Choose sentimental ornaments. Weather this be an angel somewhere in the house, a nativity scene or another item of your choice, having a sentimental object as a sort of central decoration can help to create a great Christmas atmosphere and sets a nice precedent.

And finally choose a tree! No Christmas household is complete without a Christmas tree. Whether it be real or fake, big or small, lit up or not lit up it will set a fantastic atmosphere, especially in the evening when the lights are turned on.
