Christmas Party Idea

If you have a Christmas party coming up, and you have to bring a gift, you may be stuck for ideas. To make things easier, some companies have a specific party and each person brings only one gift.

You never know what you will get, and you never know who you are buying for. In that case, you have to find a gift for Christmas party idea that will work for either sex, and that will be appreciated by just about anyone. That’s not quite as hard as it sounds.

It would be hard to go wrong with a gift basket when you are buying a gift for Christmas party. You can put anything inside, but try to keep in gender-neutral. You don’t want to give a set of lush body lotions and creams to a man, though that might be something he can take home for his wife. Instead, think about things that both sexes might use. Things like wines and cheeses, or even fruit baskets are great ideas. Everyone has to eat, and that means that food baskets are often okay no matter who will be getting your gift.

If you want to shy away from the food gift baskets when you buy a gift for Christmas party, you can always think about things most people like to do. You can usually assume most like to go see a movie once in a while, so tickets for theater admission are always great. You can also get passes for free DVD rentals, and even add popcorn and a few other goodies in to make a basket. You might also get something like a gift certificate to a store that you know most people shop in, though this works best in a smaller town.

You can also find some really great novelty items when buying a gift for Christmas party. There are some great mind bender games out there, and most end up loving them. Novelty stores both online and in your local mall might have many great ideas, but don’t get too naughty or outrageous when you buy.

Keep the personality of your office in mind, and that will help you choose among the great items you can find in such stores. Sometimes, the off-the-wall gifts are the best ones, but don’t get something that might offend. You will probably do just fine, but just remember to put some thought into it so everyone has a great time.

Scented Candle Gift Basket for Christmas

Just about everyone appreciates scented candle gift baskets. You can create innovative presents by constructing one of these thoughtful illuminative objects yourself. You may already have many of the necessary supplies in your home. Candle gift baskets can be the perfect present if you put a little thought into the project.

The first item you will need is the basket. Consider the recipient of the present when choosing the right container. You may find something that matches her décor or you may know that she will use the basket for other things like holding towels or kitchen accessories at a later date. When creating candle gift baskets there is more to consider than just candles.

After choosing the right container for the job you want to pick the fragrance, or lack of fragrance for your candle gift basket. I know that some of my friends are sensitive to strong scents. Others spend a lot of money on air fresheners and additional scents can be overwhelming in their homes.

Just because the recipients are not really interested in scents to fill their homes does not mean that they wouldn’t like candle gift baskets. You just need to choose unscented or lightly scented wax for the project. Everyone loves the natural glow of a flame. Not everyone appreciates a lot of fragrance.

You also want to consider a theme for your candle gift baskets. Unscented candles are perfect for dinners by candlelight. You can arrange the project with candlesticks, wine glasses, wine, cheese, a cheese cutter and a serving plate. This lovely present will be appreciated as a well thought out gesture.

People who love a lot of fragrance are perfect recipients for candle gift baskets. In fact, I make several of them for my sister-in-law who can’t seem to get enough of them. The first one I made had a harvest theme. I presented it to her around Thanksgiving. This present was filled with candles that had pumpkin, apple and spice scents. I also included a cute scarecrow and pumpkin candle holders.

For Christmas, I created one of my favorite candle gift baskets. This one had a spa theme. I included bath oils, salts and other bath accessories like a terrycloth robe and of course, scented candles that had a relaxing aroma. She loves to settle in the bath with her kit for a relaxing get-away.

There are countless themes that you can incorporate into these crafty gifts. Just use a little imagination and the scented candle gift baskets will practically build themselves for you.

What better way to celebrate the Christmas season than with a chocolate holiday gift? This most favorite confection has become a holiday tradition that many of us truly love, especially those of us on the receiving end. Here are some great ideas in the chocolate Christmas present theme that serve as tasty inspiration.

Humor is an important element during this stressful time of year. If you know anyone who gets a little tense during the Christmas season you can inject a little humor into your chocolate holiday gift. There are a couple of options that are certain to evoke giggles and smiles.

The Christmas Survival Chocolate bar is a prime choice for stress-out friends and relatives. What could be more relaxing than a chocolaty escape? You can find this funny holiday chocolate bar conveniently on the Internet. This is a favorite choice for anyone who loves a laugh along with a treat.

Another great humorous choice is the Mistletoe Man Magnet. Now, this Christmas chocolate present comes equipped with mistletoe but I’m sure that the chocolate is alluring enough for most of us. The recipient is instructed to hold the bar over his head for optimal results. How irresistible is that?

Humorous Christmas presents are wonderful but there are occasions that call for something a little more serious. Whether you are looking for a great corporate Christmas gift to distribute or you just want to impress someone special. The wooden box assortment is ideal for you.

Companies that offer the wooden keepsake box along with the chocolates typically include seasonal flavors that are available during this time of year. Some of my personal favorites are the cherry blossom which is a fine mix of dried cherries, marzipan and deep, dark chocolate.

You can’t go wrong with the espresso flavored confections. These treats merge two favorites that most adults have come to know and love. You can find the espresso versions infused with a hint of hazelnut or vanilla. This is one of the most popular choices for this season.

Other Christmas-inspired flavors include sparkling cinnamon and rich raspberry. Of course, there are plain milk and dark chocolates in the mix as well. The wooden keepsake box is a wonderful choice not only for the treats but for the container as well. It is rare to find a keepsake along with chocolate holiday gifts.

When you are shopping around, try browsing through your chocolaty options this season. Your friends and family will be thrilled that you did.

We’ve all been to lavish holiday parties in which there were decorations galore. We get these brilliant ideas of what we want our own houses to look like and the décor that we want, but it isn’t always easy to find a way to recreate the same ideas.

Finding the perfect Christmas table decoration idea can be a difficult feat or an easy task. Depending on what kind of event you’re hosting or have going on, you may be limited to room or have an entire table available for decorating. If you want a fun Christmas table decoration idea for a table that will be fun and youthful – let your kids decorate a paper tablecloth. Let them cut out paper snowflakes, have some markers, crayons and they can entertain themselves for a few hours. I used to give my children Christmas cards that I’ve collected over the years. I’d let them cut out the pictures from the cards and attach them to the tablecloth as well.

However, if you’re looking for a Christmas table decoration idea that is a bit more mature and festive, there are lots of ideas to be found. You can easily see a florist and pick out some beautiful floral arrangements and spend the money on them. Or, you can be more creative and design some yourself. Tall and unscented white candles always make a room and a table more elegant. Make some decorative candleholders to surround the bottoms of them and it’ll look very elegant. Finding a unique and appropriate sized gingerbread house makes a great Christmas table decoration idea. Not only will it look and smell appealing to your guests, but it will bring out the child inside of everyone. Who doesn’t love a gingerbread house?

Christmas is all about shiny and sparkling décor, and you can incorporate that into a gorgeous Christmas table decoration idea. Make place cards out of shiny red or green bows. Hang some shimmering ornaments from a chandelier hanging above a table. Some carefully planned Christmas table decoration ideas have included strands of twinkling lights wrapped around a floral centerpiece and with the proper precautions taken, have appeared absolutely stunning.

And of course, around the holidays you’ll find the holiday candies. The shiny wrappers on Hershey Kisses and other candies make for some sweet Christmas table decoration ideas as well. You could simply put out a few candy dishes with the candies in them or create some sort of decoration with them, letting their shiny wrappers captivate the attention of your guests.

No matter how you decorate your festive Christmas table, make sure it is something that will be feasible, fun, within your means and will accentuate your holidays as best as possible.

The cost of supplying energy to our homes is quite high. It can be overwhelming during the holiday season too. Electricity is in great demand during this time of season and those of us who heat our homes with this power source find that the energy bill can be staggering during the holidays. Battery powered Christmas lights can help ease the burden on your energy bill this year.

There are many benefits of using battery powered Christmas lights. The first that comes to mind is that it is energy saving. Many of us like having a lot of lights glowing during this time of year. If you use battery powered Christmas lights you use less power from your home’s energy source.

Money-saving benefits are not the only reasons to use this kind of decorative lighting. There are other benefits to using battery powered Christmas lights as well. These benefits include having no worries about wires. I always trip over the many electric cords lying around the house during this time of year.

Battery powered Christmas lights require no cords and you don’t have to worry about tripping. You also don’t have to worry about camouflaging the cords either. This can be a real challenge especially if you have hardwood floors. No cords mean no problem with disguising wires.

You also don’t have to worry about overloading your circuits by pulling too much energy from one socket. This is a big problem in older homes. I live in an old house and I find myself blowing circuits during the holiday season. This year I am definitely investing in battery powered Christmas lights to keep myself worry free.

I also worry about possible fires when too many wires are being used. Battery powered Christmas lights give me peace of mind. I never used to leave the lights on overnight but this year I can let the lights glow without worrying about sparking a winter blaze. I also won’t worry about my electric bill.

Those who like to adorn their homes with glowing lighting during the holiday season may want to consider battery powered Christmas lights. They come in really handy when you want to light an object that is too far from an outlet.

We have a beautiful evergreen in the back yard. I can finally light it with the battery powered Christmas lights that I am buying this year. I’ve wanted to do that for years.

Christmas time used to mean something a little different than it does now. As a kid and growing up thru the 70′s it seemed to be a standard thing that at Xmas time the family would get together and we might spend Xmas Eve together, putting all of the last minute decorations up and the moms and grandmas would be ensuring that all the food was prepared.

The children on the other hand were left to mostly entertain themselves till Xmas morning, and nine times out of ten this would involve puzzles and games and there was always a jigsaw puzzle close at hand. A Christmas Puzzle was always a fun part of the Xmas season as we would set up a massive one and all of the family would join in and begin to fit the pieces where they belonged. Unusually enough there would always be a lot of laughter and mucking around as folk got the pieces mixed up and attempted to put them in places where they were obviously not engineered to go. Everybody used to like this activity, from the older family members like grandma and grandpas, right down to the cousins and nephews who were all pre-teen ages.

We have come a great distance in the last few decades with Xmas jigsaw puzzles becoming giant business in the lead up to the festive season. Now into whatever store we are going there are Christmas jigsaw puzzles everywhere. There are many places online such as Jigsaw2order.com where you can turn your own photo into a Photo Puzzle. we will grab a superb Christmas puzzle. There are even those that customize the jigsaw puzzle by employing your own pictures.

You can make the jigsaw puzzle even more exciting to those older folks in the family by having something done that suggests family, memories, and so on. The fundamental idea though is the bringing together of the family and friends, so that the festive season is one that everybody will enjoy and remember for a particularly long time to come.

Imagine that big dining table covered with the 1500 pieces of a picture that contains a finished picture of a vacation scene from the past somewhere. Perhaps it’d be a picture of a prior special family occasion, or perhaps somebody from the family who is not here to enjoy the festive season. What a cool way to recollect somebody special.

So whether it be a pre-made Xmas jigsaw puzzle, or a customized jigsaw puzzle from your own photographs, enjoy the season with family. Try this as a unique method to get everybody concerned in something that can be finished as a team.

“He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice.”

This may be a line from one of the most recognized Christmas carol. Almost everyone who celebrates Christmas knows all about Santa’s good list as well as his naughty list and most people do their best to avoid being placed on Santa’s naughty list. While the concept of Santa’s good list and naughty list is a fun way to convince children to be on their best behavior during the Christmas season, the concept of a list should one that all Christmas shoppers adhere to while they are doing their Christmas shopping.

In fact Christmas shopping should be filled with all sorts of lists. You can create lists of everyone you plan to give gifts to this year, lists of potential gift ideas and even lists of the actual gifts you select. All of this list making may sound tedious but this article will explain how all of these lists can be very helpful.

Making a list of everyone you plan to give a Christmas gift to should be the first step in any Christmas shopping expedition. This list is so important because it gives you a handy reference to all the people you should keep in mind while you are shopping and also gives you an indication of the total number of people on your Christmas list. Knowing how many people are on your list is important for setting a budget. Consider how much money you have to spend and divide this amount by the number of people on your list and this will give you an idea of how much you can spend on each person on your Christmas list.

After you make this list and set your budget, it is a good idea to make another list of potential gift ideas for each person on your Christmas gift list. It is a good idea to brainstorm and try to come up with a few good gift ideas for each person on your list. This is helpful because when you are out Christmas shopping you know where to start your search and will have a few choices if you are having difficulty finding one of the items on your list of suggestions.

You may find items which are not on your list but are perfect for the person you are shopping for and it is acceptable to buy these items. It is important to remember your list of suggestions is just a starting point and if you find a more appropriate gift that is not on your list it is a good idea to purchase this gift instead.

When Christmas shopping you should also keep a list of the items you actually purchase as Christmas gifts for those on your list. This is a good idea because if you have a particularly long list, you may have difficulty remembering all the items you already bought. Keeping an updated list of whom you have already purchased Christmas gifts for and what you bought them will minimize this problem.

This list also comes in handy when it is time to start wrapping all the Christmas gifts you purchased. You may have a closet full of gifts but you may have trouble remembers which gift goes to which recipient. However, if you kept an accurate list as you made your purchases this should not be a problem.

10. ‘Die Hard’ (1988)

Yeah, I know, but here me out: it takes place on Christmas Eve and Bruce Willis in all his buff glory fights bad guy terrorists and delivers great one-liners. Qualifies as a Christmas movie in my book. Based on a 1979 novel by Roderick Thorp titled Nothing Lasts Forever, Die Hard stars Bruce Willis as NYPD officer John McClane and Alan Rickman as terrorist thief Hans Gruber. Filled with action, explosions and cliffhanger scenes, Die Hard deserves to make the Christmas best list.

9. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

You can’t have a family and not love the National Lampoon Vacation movies. Chevy Chase is every dad and with his traditional physical comedy it will have you in stitches. The third in the Vacation series finds Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase , trying to capture the perfect Christmas for his family. Of course, his noble attempts are squashed at every turn, when he can’t find the right tree, when the boss neglects to give out Christmas bonuses, when the extended family comes for an extended stay. But in the end, the magic of Christmas wins out.

8. Trading Places (1983)

Dan Akroyd, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Lee Curtis in the same movie, get the TV ready and grab they popcorn, there are going to be some laughs. The premise is two snobby brokers hold a bet about nurture vs. nature. One believes that a well-bred man faced with failure will conquer the odds and find his way, while an ill-bred individual will always fail. The other believes just the opposite. The bet culminates when the two test subjects come face to face at a company Christmas party. But when one of the “subjects” (Dan Akroyd) overhears the two businessmen discussing the details of the bet, he conspires with the other subject (Eddie Murphy) to get back at the businessmen. Jamie Lee Curtis plays a hooker with a heart of gold, of course, who nurses Akroyd back to physical, and mental, health, need I say more?

7. Lethal Weapon (1987)

This action-comedy film is the first in the Lethal Weapon series directed by Richard Donner and starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as LAPD detectives. Glover as Detective Roger Murtaugh, is depressed at reaching 50 and feeling like his better days are behind him. Mel Gison as Detective Martin Riggs is depressed following the recent death of his wife.

The reluctant partners become tight friends after a series of near-death experiences, fights, kidnappings, explosions and other edge of your seat situations. On Christmas Day at the Murtaugh home, Riggs gives Murtaugh a symbolic gift the unfired hollow-point bullet, which he had intended to sue to commit suicide, which he doesn’t need anymore. Aww, the buddy cop movie reigns.

6. White Christmas (1954)

Who hasn’t ever dreamt of a ‘White Christmas’? The movie starring Bing “Mr. Christmas” Crosby and Danny Kaye is one of those “they don’t make them like that anymore movies. The plot surrounds the two GIs as they come home from WWII. After the war, their entertainment skills help them find success as an act and eventually as producers. Then fate steps in when they receive a letter from a mess sergeant they knew in the war, asking them to audition his two sisters. When they go to the club to audition the act (“Sisters”), Betty (Rosemary Clooney) reveals that her sister, Judy (Vera-Ellen), sent the letter. After a series of mishaps the group end up in Vermont and discover that the Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont, is run by their former commanding officer, Major General Tom Waverly, and it’s about to go bankrupt. Wallace and Davis along with the girls decide to help. Love and unforgetting musical transpires

5. Scrooged (1988)

As cold-hearted television executive, Francis Cross Bill Murray can use a little visit from a ghost or two to put him back in the Christmas spirit, which is exactly what happens in this modern take on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Only in this version hilarity surrounds the fact that Cross is also heading up a live production of A Christmas Carol. His real life soon begins to mirror the production. In true Dickens’ fashion Cross mends his ways and begs for forgiveness.

4. Christmas in Connecticut (1945)

A classic of Christmas tale of false pretenses, misunderstandings and love triangles. Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan, and Sydney Greenstreet the film begins in WWII when a German U-boat sinks an American vessel. The two survivors are rescued and hospitalized. One of the men, Jefferson Jones (Dennis Morgan) tries to gain favor with a nurse to get her to give him special treatment. Instead the nurse falls for him and is intent on marrying him. Love can be so funny.

3. The Ref (1994)

Caustic wit gets a full-body workout in this 1994 comedy, in which a cat burglar (Denis Leary) gets trapped in an affluent Connecticut neighborhood and is forced to hold a bickering couple hostage on Christmas Eve, only to discover that their Yuletide spirit is anything but cheerful. Caroline (Judy Davis) and her husband, Lloyd (Kevin Spacey), have been at each other’s throats for so long that they’ve developed domestic arguments into an art form, and the would-be kidnapper turns into a reluctant mediator, even after he’s got the battling couple wound up in bungee cords. The situation grows even more complicated when the couple’s smart-aleck son comes home from military school, but it’s not the plot here that’s a top priority. Instead it’s the sheer pleasure of witnessing a three-way verbal jousting match, written with razor-sharp skill and delivered by actors who are perfect for their roles.

2. The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark Knight arrives with tremendous hype, and incredibly, it lives up to all of it. What makes the movie great–in addition to pitch-perfect casting, outstanding writing, and a compelling vision–is that it bypasses the normal fantasy element of the superhero genre and makes it all terrifyingly real. Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is Gotham City’s new district attorney, charged with cleaning up the crime rings that have paralyzed the city. He enters an uneasy alliance with the young police lieutenant, Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), and Batman (Christian Bale), the caped vigilante who seems to trust only Gordon–and whom only Gordon seems to trust. They make progress until a psychotic and deadly new player enters the game: the Joker (Heath Ledger), who offers the crime bosses a solution–kill the Batman. Further complicating matters is that Dent is now dating Rachel Dawes, the longtime love of Batman’s alter ego, Bruce Wayne.

1. Where Eagles Dare (1969)

My all time favorite Christmas Movie! Watching ‘Where Eagles Dare’ after a Turkey and trimmings, sitting in the armchair ends the perfect Christmas day for me. This is an action packed thrilling non stop war movie with a twisting story line and fantastic acting. Starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood lead a joint British American commando team to rescue American General Carnaby who has been shot down over a German-occupied area of Bavaria. The Germans are holding Carnaby prisoner in an old castle on the mountains. Carnaby is believed to be holding information about the upcoming D-Day invasion so the future of the far is at stake. Christmas Day movie watching at it’s best!

You may not have the time, money or resources to do a lot of holiday outdoor decorating this year. There is some good news. You really don’t need much more than a good Christmas door decoration to create a bold holiday statement.

One of the classic ways to bring focus to your door is to use a wreath. This simple item is traditional and classy. You can use this Christmas door decoration with a spotlight on the area for bigger impact. For many homes this is plenty to communicate holiday cheer in a classy, understated fashion.

Some of us want a little more wow factor in our Christmas door decoration idea. You can always use wrapping paper. I love the look of a front door covered in metallic red, green or even silver and gold paper. Add a big bow and you have yourself a knock-out Christmas door decoration that costs next to nothing.

Another idea for this most important space is to create a big snowman out of cardboard. This is a wonderful Christmas door decoration for anyone who is expecting children to visit during the holidays. Santa is a great option as well.

You can use materials to give this character dimension as well. Santa’s beard can be made of pulled cotton balls. This material can be used on the cuffs of his coat and pants as well. Red felt is a wonderful choice for his clothes and black felt will make wonderful boots for this Christmas door decoration.

Adding interest to the space is very important. This can be done by creating some expectation as well. Maybe try adding some lights and that lead up to the entrance. Putting short evergreens on either side of the entrance will also make a great Christmas door decoration.

You may want to try something unusual with the space. Many of the ideas listed here are traditional and others are commonly seen at school. The traditional Christmas door decorations include the mini trees and the wreath. Just about everyone has seen an entrance wrapped with paper as well.

When you think about your Christmas door decoration you may want to find something that is a little more unusual. Maybe creating a whole holiday scene right on the door would be a unique approach.

This year I am going to create a Christmas door decoration that turns part of my front entrance into a huge greeting card. You can find the oversized holiday card at a craft store. I am putting a sign that says, “Please sign” in bold, red letters right above the oversized holiday card.

This Christmas door decoration serves two purposes. The design on the front of the oversized holiday card will serve as a great visual interest while the inside of the card will be a treasured keepsake reminding me of all of the special visitors I had over the season.
